The Bavarian club has confirmed that the winger is suffering from an adductor injury and will be sidelined “for an extended period.”

Bayern Munich’s qualification for the Champions League semifinals has come at a cost: Serge Gnabry has been ruled out, and his participation in the World Cup with Germany is now under serious threat.
On Saturday evening, Bayern announced that Gnabry sustained an adductor injury in his right leg. While no specific recovery timeline was given, the club confirmed he would be out “for a prolonged period.” The injury occurred after he was substituted during the match against Real Madrid just after the hour mark.
As a result, Gnabry will miss Sunday’s Bundesliga clash with Stuttgart — a game that could see Bayern crowned league champions — as well as the midweek DFB-Pokal semifinal against Bayer Leverkusen. According to reports in the German press, his chances of featuring in the Champions League semifinals against PSG are also virtually nonexistent.
Having recently signed a contract extension through 2028, Gnabry had regained the prominence he lost last season following the arrival of Michael Olise. Coach Vincent Kompany converted him into an attacking midfielder to cover for Jamal Musiala’s absence during the Club World Cup, and with 10 goals and 12 assists, he became a key supporting player for the lethal trio of Olise, Harry Kane, and Luis Díaz.
With Lennart Karl also out of action, the spotlight now falls on Jamal Musiala to step up for a Bayern Munich side that, aside from Nico Jackson, has limited attacking options. As the club waits for a clearer prognosis on Gnabry’s absence, his loss is a major blow to their ambition of winning the treble for the first time in six years.
