Deportivo de La Coruña: Dépor Files Appeal Over Yeremay’s Yellow Card Against Cádiz

Published on: 2026-05-12 | Author: admin

As Antonio Hidalgo had already announced after the match, Deportivo has now officially submitted an appeal against the yellow card shown to Yeremay for alleged simulation in the penalty area against Cádiz. This booking, the fifth of the cycle, would currently rule the player out for Sunday’s fixture against the Principality side at 14:00, a situation the club aims to avoid.

The Galician club has provided video evidence and a sequence of photos, along with citing precedents, to prove Yeremay’s innocence. The incident occurred in the first half when the Canary-born player entered the box and made contact with a defender from behind. Referee Arcediano Monescillo not only refused to award a penalty, deeming the contact insufficient for a foul, but also booked Yeremay. In the same match, a similar situation involving Antoñito in Deportivo’s area was noted.

Dépor, who arrived at the match with seven players on the brink of suspension, currently loses both their number 10 and Lucas Noubi due to yellow-card accumulation.
