FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — Amanda Gutierres coolly slotted home a penalty kick deep into stoppage time, giving the Boston Legacy a dramatic 2-1 comeback victory over the Orlando Pride on Tuesday night.

The decisive moment came eight minutes into added time after a VAR review determined that Pride midfielder Luana had handled the ball inside the box. Gutierres made no mistake from the spot, sending goalkeeper Anna Moorhouse the wrong way.

The win marked Boston’s second consecutive home triumph.

Orlando had opened the scoring in the 14th minute when Marta converted a penalty of her own. The Brazilian star’s 15th career regular-season penalty kick moved her into the league lead in that category. She placed her shot to the right of Legacy goalkeeper Casey Murphy.

Boston (2-5-2) leveled the match in the 72nd minute. Gutierres directed a header into the path of substitute Aleigh Gambone, who had entered the game just seven minutes earlier. Gambone capped the buildup with her first career NWSL goal.

Orlando’s leading scorer, Barba Banda, who has a league-best eight goals this season, began the match on the bench but was introduced after halftime.

The Pride (3-4-2) were playing the first match of a three-game road trip spanning 15 days.
